Let start with the lastest among them, the iPhone SE
iPhone SE (2020) Specifications
CAMERA of iPhone SE
Perhaps the most important piece of hardware on the iPhone, most people believe that iPhones are merely camera phones and nothing more. But iPhone cameras are the best smartphone cameras out there, some iPhones perform better (to an extent) than most digital cameras.
The good camera continued with the new iPhone SE. It’s strange to see phones with single primary and secondary cameras nowadays, but hey, this is Apple!
The iPhone SE has a single rear 12MP shooter with OIS (optical image stabilization), HDR and a dual-tone Dual LED flash. For shooting videos, you get to shoot 2160p videos at 24/30/60 FPS (frames per second), there’s also a 1080p (HD) mode that lets you shoot videos at 30/60/120/240 FPS. Isn’t that amazing?
The selfie camera is also great – it’s a 7MP wide lens with f/2.2 aperture. It supports HDR and lets you film videos at only 30fps. Apple added EIS (Electronic image stabilization) to the iPhone SE for more crisp and blur-free selfies.
In short, the iPhone SE camera will make your heart rejoice, just as you know that Apple never disappoints when it comes to this.back to menu ↑
DISPLAY/SIZE/RESOLUTION of iPhone SE
The iPhone SE has a retina 4.7 inch IPS LCD display panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio for good viewing angles. Color representation is quite good (considering the price), but it doesn’t seem to perform well outdoors – not the brightest of displays.
Its 750 × 1334 pixels gives you good HD quality while streaming or watching videos. It’s also protected by ion-strengthened glass with an oleophobic coating.back to menu ↑
DESIGN of iPhone SE
The iPhone SE is beautifully crafted with an all-glass design, making it have that premium feel. The front is a black gorilla glass for all the available colors. On the rear, we’ve got the single-camera, the Apple logo which has been brought to the middle of the iPhone SE – matching the iPhone 11 design.
It also has a gorilla glass back; below the device is the speaker grills and the USB port. Sadly there’s no headphone jack, you need to get the Airpods.
It’s a good looking device, which is what Apple tries to do with all of their products. And that makes them look good and premium (first impression matters a lot! 😉).back to menu ↑
RAM of iPhone SE
One very important aspect of phones in modern times – what most people look at for, is the amount of RAM given to a smartphone.
You would be surprised that iPhone SE has 3G RAM!
For most iPhone users and enthusiasts, the 3GB RAM on this iPhone SE device is sufficient for all your needs, considering the display and other specs. If you’re much of a heavy user – using many apps and games simultaneously, you’d be served just fine.back to menu ↑
STORAGE of iPhone SE
For storage choices, the iPhone SE comes in three variants.
The 64GB which is the baseline and obviously the least expensive of the bunch. There’s no external storage (as with all iPhones), so if you need more space; you can either use Cloud-based storage or purchase the two other available choices – the 128GB (median) or the 256GB (Top variant)back to menu ↑
BATTERY/CHARGING of iPhone SE
There’s nothing too exciting about the battery of the iPhone SE, you’d probably need to recharge before the day runs out.
Apple has included an 1821 mAh non-removable Li-polymer battery which is a big let down for a lot of people especially Nigerians, considering the power situation in most parts of the country.
Out of the box, you get an 18W fast charger which powers the device up to 50% in 30 minutes.
The SE is also compatible with Qi wireless charging 2.0.
Although Apple has promised good battery optimization with the new software, you would need to get a good source of backup power if you’re a heavy user.back to menu ↑
CPU/OS of iPhone SE
The software on this device is basically the same as the iPhone 11; the iOS 13 build with all its new features and tweaks. When writing this blog post, there’s been no statement of an imminent update to the latest iOS 13.4, but do trust Apple to always deliver updates on all their devices.
The CPU is a Hexa-core (2×2.65 GHz Lightning + 4×1.8 GHz Thunder), with the latest A13 Bionic chipset (7nm+), which means a much seamless operation, better multitasking and better compatibility with latest apps.back to menu ↑
